Armed with high spirits and great weather we set out to explore the wine region. Bob & Irene both enjoy wooded chardonnays but were keen to explore other varietals and wine styles. Deirdre presented a range of mainly white wines – the Seidelberg wooded chardonnay was their favourite.
A quick look into the glass blowing studio! With a keen eye for quality art Irene and Bob fell instantly in love with two pieces. Irene was excited to meet the artist Elisabeth Jackson and inquired as to how long it takes to make a vase. “One hour, or in reality seven years and one hour” replied Elisabeth. The apprenticeship takes around seven years to reach the skill level required to make these individual pieces!
These show pieces are on their way to them in the USA and Bob and Irene are looking forward to displaying them in their home.
Open seven days a week, the glass blowing studio is worth visiting after wine tasting.
