Wow, great idea. To be honest I already tasted some great Seidelberg wines and some more other wines as well, unfortunately I never wrote down my notes. I try to start taking some notes teh next time I ll open a Seidelberg bottle. Nevertheless the best bottles are opened while having great conversations and not while taking notes.
Looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you guys !

Hi there. I had a great time here on the farm and tasted some very delicious wines. The best wine in my opinion is the Seidelberg Shiraz [ I don’t mean the reserve range, even though the Rolands Reserve is a stunning one as well]. It is a great wine for those of us who cannot justify more than R80 per bottle. The wine has got flavors of dark chocolate, black pepper and a hint of spice on the nose followed by berry fruits. Dry and not too strong tannins, but with loads of fruit and a nice finish. I was going to keep some for tomorrow, but will drink it now on the lawn. Fantastic!

Hello Paul,
I agree with you that the Shiraz is a great wine. It´s got the flavours of dark fruit like you described but I would add that it ´s also got a nice oaky oaky flavour ( it says 15 months in oak barrels) and yes definitly pepper. Maybe a good match for barbecue ?

The rose wine was very nice, it is sweet and round in the mouth. Last year’s onion cakes was very nice, the atmosphere is good.

Hello,
I had your sauvignon blanc for a dinner party last weekend. It was super fresh, nice lemon and green paper notes, some gooseberries on the palate. Wish I still had some more in my cellar . . . oh and it´s got some lively acidity. Just drink it with some salad, maybe fish or white meat or just by itself with good friends.
Best wishes

Hello Seidelberg family,
I really like your wines, especially the Pinotage Reserve. Berries, sweet fruits, pepper. Mouth-filling, rich , concentrated, long finish, perfect. Looking forward to visiting your restaurant again.

Thank you to the team at Seidelberg, for a wonderful experience at your estate.
We both have gained much more knowledge about the great wines you produce and had a very informative tour with Catherine. She also did a tasting with us and introduced some new wines, which Dian is going to list.
Thank you once again, for the beautiful accommodation and outstanding views.
We would love to visit again in the future, but stay for longer… Many Thanks

This has been a fabulous experience. It is our family’s christmas present and has been worth waiting for. The wines were excellent, we are fairly new to South African wine but enjoy it very much. We are taking some home and will enjoy the memories. thank you to Marly for an enjoyable and informative experience.

Lovely wines, good atmosphere and excellent service. The reserve wines were all excellent and golden harvest a delight. Try the Reserve Pinotage it has good fruit and intensity drinking well now but will age well.

We are all great fans of the Roland Reserves but our favorite, as so many times before in wine tastings here at Seidelberg, is the un-deux-trois which always pleases our taste buds as it is an excellent blend!
April 11th, 2010 at 4:03 pm
totally agree with the “un-deux-trois”, a real nice cape blend, but I also like your whites like Chardonnay and Sauvignon.

Hello Seidelberg crew,
my impression of the Cabernet Reserve, rich and complex, nice tannins, dark berries, plums, oaky, long long finish. A perfect wine for a special dinner. I really enjoyed with my wine friends.
Cheers Daniel

Hallo,
