Alicia Rechner

She has worked at Seidelberg since 2009. Meticulous and loving care of our vineyards and an intimate understanding of our "terroir" ensures that the marriage between centuries old tradition and modern techniques combine to produce the magic that is Seidelberg wine.

Background

Graduated from University of Stellenbosch with a B.Sc Agric majoring in Viticulture and Oenology. Worked as an assistant in leading wineries such as Stellenzicht in Stellenbosch and Tatachilla in Australia. She spent 7 years working as head winemaker at Backsberg in Paarl where she familiarized herself with the Paarl terroir and earned a number of accolades for her great work in the winery. Alicia is ably assisted by Minke Smit in the cellar.

Alicia combines a consuming passion with her creative nature and the experience gained in various countries to produce world class wines of individual character. Our winemaking team begin the painstaking process of turning high quality fruit into premium wines, each with their own individual character and personality. Seidelberg Wine Estate produces a range of wines which are at a premium quality level, we market and sell these wines to the medium &high priced end of the market. Our brand is seenas high quality as well as good value when compared with similar products at the same price point. Most of our wines are not sold to the supermarket channel.
